ITEC Conference Session
Terrain Generation and Re-usability of Terrains
Alun Evans, Technical Director, Antycip Simulation
14.00 - 15.30, Thursday 14 May, Conference Room 1125
The concept of off-the-shelf terrain databases to answer to the re-usability challenge: re-using existing data sets, databases, adapting 3D models. The concept of ‘Eco-Simulations’ built on open standards. The example of the WED: re-use of data, enhanced several times and used by different integrators. Generating database from high quality datasets. Large databases management challenges & dynamic terrain. The multiplicity of solutions for terrain processing. Is the M&S community facing a COTS use explosion?
Innovation Showcase presentation
COTS simulation software advances in Computer Generated Forces (CGF) for Network Centric Warfare (NCW) and Live Virtual Constructive (LVC) simulations.
Chris Waldron, Sales Area Manager, Antycip Simulation
12.15 - 12.45, Wednesday 13 May
Antycip Simulation will present an innovative solution to simulate higher fidelity models in Computer Generated Forces (CGF) applications using VT MÄK’s VR-Forces. The innovation showcase will highlight how new COTS techniques can scale up the power of CGFs for air, sea and land applications.
"ITEC provides a unique international venue for showcasing training & simulation products and services that support our defence forces, as well as having commercial applications. Growing well beyond traditional simulation, training, terrain database generation and modelling, ITEC now addresses opportunities relative to medical advances, educational/academic applications, gaming technologies, interoperability, survivability, the science of learning and much more. Come and be immersed in the latest technologies, hear from subject matter experts, and network with senior officials of the international military and defence industry."
