Jean-Louis Igarza Joins Antycip Simulation in the position of Chief Scientist
London, United Kingdom, 18 May 2010 – Antycip Simulation Ltd (Antycip Simulation), a subsidiary of ST Electronics (Training & Simulation Systems) Pte Ltd, today announced that Jean-Louis Igarza has joined the company in the position of Chief Scientist. With his experience, Jean-Louis will provide Antycip Simulation with invaluable technical advice and support to strengthen its customer service in the application of technologies used in various programmes.
Jean-Louis Igarza spent 40 years in the French Ministry of Defence (MoD). His last responsibility within the French MoD being in the Development, Policy and Use of Modelling and Simulation (M&S) Standards in General Delegation for Armament (DGA). He held this position from October 2003 to end-2009 in the Centre for Defence Analysis (CAD) of DGA (recently re-named CATOD). Prior to his DGA appointment, Jean-Louis was the Chief Scientist of the NATO M&S Co-ordination Office (MSCO) from its inception in October 2000 to end-September 2003. Jean-Louis was responsible for the set up of the Simulation Department of CAD in 1995 and served there until September 2000. Jean-Louis spent a large part of his career as a simulation expert and an operational analyst in a number of positions within DGA CAD, heading various departments of CAD dealing with different aspects of the air defence domain.
With a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics (University of Paris, 1969) and a background in Operation Research, Statistics and Probability, Jean-Louis has diverse teaching experience in key French engineering schools in both civilian and military areas. He was also an associate professor at the University of Versailles for twelve years lecturing in Modelling and Simulation (M&S). He has published dozens of papers mainly related to M&S and recently collaborated in a new book, "Use of M&S for Systems of Systems” which was published at the end of 2009.
Jean-Louis IGARZA is a member of SISO (the Simulation Interoperability Standards Organisation) since its inception. He was elected as a member of the SISO Executive Committee (EXCOM) in 2009 and is the unique non-US member of the EXCOM this year. He is also a founding member of the ETSA (European Training and Simulation Association) and a member of the ETSA Board of Directors. Jean-Louis was also chairman of the NATO M&S Group (NMSG) for a 2-year appointment from May 2006. The NMSG is the leading NATO organisation in M&S.
